Because of the high level of client contact in building or construction law, attorneys must be able to build relationships with a variety of people, from contractors to lenders and other attorneys. It is important to see things from the customer's point of view and offer commercially viable advice in terms that customers can understand. To work as a solicitor, you can take the Bar Qualifying Examination (SQE) or, if you qualify, you can study the Legal Practice Course (LPC). If you qualify through the SQE, you will need to complete two years of Qualifying Work Experience (QWE).
